Day 1 – Airport Transfer to hotel in San Jose

At your arrival, Costa Rica Guides and Expediciones Tropicales will have a representative past the immigration point at the end of the ramp, waiting for you, holding a visible placard with your last name. The representative will not be able to provide assistance with your luggage inside the airport, as you’re the only person permitted to do so.
Once you have exited the airport, our driver will gladly assist you with your luggage and private transportation to the hotel in San Jose.

Day 2 – San Jose City Tour (B)

Teatro NacionalThis tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica.
We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.

Day 3 – Combo Tour (Poas Volcano, Doka Coffee Tour & La Paz Waterfall Gardens) (B/L)

We will first drive you through the city of Alajuela passing by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. On the way to the volcano we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica.

After the coffee tour we will continue to Poás Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park. Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail that leads to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the impressive hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house and the frog’s exhibit. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in San José

Day 4 – Transfer to Arenal Volcano Area & Day at leisure in Arenal Volcano Area (B)

Day 5 – Visit to Tabacon Hotsprings (B/L/D)

The Arenal Volcano, situated in the province of Alajuela, is one the most active volcanoes in the Americas. In 1968 it erupted decimating the small town of Tabacón. After an enchanting day marveling at the awesomeness that is the Arenal Volcano, we will visit the Tabacon Hot Springs and bask in the soothing waters whilst being caressed by the cool night air and marveling at the crystal clear night sky as we contemplate our existence. Later that evening, we will treat you to a scrumptious dinner and at the end of the evening you will be transferred to your hotel in Arena.

Day 6 – Transfer to Monteverde & day at leisure in Monteverde (B)

Day 8 – Transfer to Tamarindo Beach & day at leisure in Tamarindo Beach (B)

Day 9 – Day at leisure in Tamarindo Beach (B)

Day 10 – Day at leisure in Tamarindo Beach (B)

Day 11 – Transfer to Jaco Beach & day at leisure in Jaco Beach (B)

Day 12 – Day at leisure in Jaco Beach (B)

Day 13 – Transfer to San José & day at leisure in San Jose (B)

Day 14 – Airport Transfer (B)
