Day 1 – Private transfer from Juan Santamaría airport to your hotel

At your arrival, Costa Rica Guides and Expediciones Tropicales will have a representative past the immigration point at the end of the ramp, waiting for you, holding a visible placard with your last name. The representative will not be able to provide assistance with your luggage inside the airport, as you’re the only person permitted to do so.

Once you have exited the airport, our driver will gladly assist you with your luggage and private transportation to the hotel in San Jose.

Day 2 – Classic San Jose City Explorer

Breakfast included at the hotel.

This tour show Costa Rica ́s culture and history, visiting the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and historical sites in the city of San José. For example, the National Theater ́s lobby, a patriotic monument built by Costa Rican hands in 1897 also known as “The Jewel of San José”.

We will make stops in several points of equal importance as: the Old Train Station, the National Liquor Factory, the Supreme Court of Elections, Congress, Metallic Building, Central Market, and some parks. In other words, an introduction to our capital city, as well as information about topics of great relevance including economy, culture, politics, religion, and current affairs in general.

Our visit ends in a workshop specialized in jewelry and gold pieces, where you will receive a complementary explanation of the techniques used by our ancestors for metallurgical work.

Day 3 – Combo Tour: Poás Volcano National Park /Doka Coffee Tour / La Paz Waterfall Gardens

To get to the different attractions included during this excursion we will drive by the city of Alajuela.

As we ascend towards the Poás Volcano we will notice the change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower, and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape.

On the way to the volcano, we will visit Doka Coffee Tour for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica.

After the coffee tour we will continue to Poás Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles.

The total stay at the park will be 1:30 hours approximately walking on the trek to get to the crater viewpoint and visit to Botos Lagoon.

Due to the altitude and activity of the Poás Volcano, this tour is not recommended to any person with heart conditions, high blood pressure, people who have had a recent surgery, pregnant women, or children.

Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for lunch and nature tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the impressive hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house and the frog ́s exhibit.

Day 4 – Arenal Volcano with Baldi Hot Springs

Breakfast included at the hotel.

The Arenal Volcano with Baldi Hot Springs tour is a favorite among travelers.

This tour offers the auspicious site of the imposing Arenal Volcano and the soothing thermal waters. On route to the Arenal Volcano there will be a stop in the famous town of Sarchi, known as the birthplace of Costa Rica’s Artisans.

In Sarchi, you may see an ox cart that holds the title as being the largest ox cart in the world. We will stop to enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant.

Then you will go on to relax at one of the best hot springs in the area where you will enjoy the rejuvenating effects of the thermal waters.

And for a perfect ending, before going back to San José, a wonderful dinner will be served with a great view of the volcano so that you do not miss any opportunity to look at the stunning and classically shaped volcano one more time.

Day 5 – Shared transfer from Arenal to Manuel Antonio.

Day 6 – Manuel Antonio National Park

This national park is considered one of the most beautiful in the country.

The combination of a paradisiacal beach with crystal-clear waters with coral banks, bordered by lush vegetation and the natural charms of the humid tropical forest.

Initially we will take a walk in the rainforest along a natural trail of the national park until we reach the beach, where we can take a bath, or take a tour along the trails, which will allow us to observe the abundant flora and fauna, in particular several species of monkeys, raccoons, iguanas, birds, and sloth bears.

Afternoon at leisure to enjoy Manuel Antonio and its surroundings.

Day 7 – Shared transfer from Manuel Antonio to San Jose & day at leisure in San José.

Rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy San José and its surroundings.

Transfer from your hotel in San Jose to the International Airport for your flight home.
