Even though tennis in Costa Rica is not extremely popular, there are enough facilities available throughout the country. Many hotels have tennis courts for their guests, such as the Barceló Palacio in San José and the Flamingo Beach Resort in Guanacaste.
Some of the gated communities have tennis courts, including ‘Ciudad Hacienda Los Reyes’ - the most extensive residential, sporting and recreational complex in San José. As well, there are numerous Costa Rica tennis clubs, where members can play good tennis, most of them situated in the Metropolitan area.

Copa del Café Tournament in Costa Rica
The Copa del Café Tournament is perhaps the most important tennis event in Costa Rica, and is held each year at the Costa Rica Country Club. It’s a junior tennis event for boys and girls 18 years old and under, and is included in the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
The tournament has featured excellent players throughout the years. It is played to a maximum capacity of 25.000 spectators each week and has daily national live television, as well as full media coverage.
