The seven dates of the surfing tournament are already established

The Federation of Costa Rica Surf announced the schedule for the season 2007-2008 of the National Circuit, which is distributed in seven dates in different beaches in the country.

The championship will run throughout the summertime, and this time the purpose is to promote further several locations in the surfing.

The circuit consists in a series of tournaments qualified with a grand finale in next April that concentrates the best surfers of the nation.

Following international standards, the seven events are classified with stars, with six at the most.
The more stars they have in a tournament scored more surfers can get involved.

The start date and the first championship will be on 8th and 9th December in Jaco beach with Mango Cup. This tournament has three-star classification.

Just over a month later, on January 12th and 13th, it will take place in OP Hermosa Beach, which corresponds to the second date (See box dates).

The expectations for the Surf Federation are counting at least with 300 surfboarders over the Circuit.

According to the age and affinity, surfers will compete in the Open category (greater), Body board, Long board, Junior (up to 18 years old), Boys (under 16 years), Grommets (less than 14), mini-grommets ( less than 12), Masters (over 35) and Novato’s(new). Most of the categories are competing in female and male.

The circuit is of surfers who will represent the country the next year in many international tournaments, including the Pan American and ALAS (Latin American Association of Surf).

Date 1: Mango Cup in Jaco, 8th and 9th December.

Date 2: Tournament OP in Hermosa, 12th and 13th January.

Date 3: Tournament Witch's Rock in Tamarindo, 2nd and 3rd February.

Date 4: Playa Nosara, 23rd and 24th February.

Date 5: Tournament Playa Carmen.

Date 6: Playa Dominical, 5th and 6th April.

Date 7: Grand Final Terraza-Reef in Hermosa, 26th and 27th April.
